First accident on Southern Expressway

First accident on Expressway

The first accident on the Southern Expressway was reported today morning when a van skidded and toppled on the road causing injuries to two persons.It was reported from the Kahathuduwa area and the two injured persons were taken to the Horana hospital where they were treated and discharged, police said. Police quoting the driver said that the van had been travelling at over 100 Kmph when the accident occurred. There was a second incident reported where a car had stalled in the middle of the road causing a traffic block. An accident was prevented as the other vehicles coming from the rear had been alerted in time.
